¿Cuántas veces nos metemos en líos y luego nos tenemos que salvar la situación como podamos? ¡A ver cómo se las arregla este hombre del vídeo de hoy!
Vamos a trabajar hoy la comprensión oral y también un poco de la gramática inglesa. Ah, si, y una risa también.
Ve el vídeo e intenta oír estas frases:
But Uncle James. Mummy said to take me to the hairdresser.
Pero tío James. Mamá dijo que me llevara a la peluquería.
Waste of money. I’ll have a bash myself
Una pérdida de dinero. Voy a intentarlo mí mismo
I’m back! What happened?
Ya estoy de vuelta! ¿Que pasó?
Leave it to me. I’m just waiting for the manager to get back and then is he in trouble.
Déjamelo a mí. Estoy esperando a que vuelva el gerente y ya va a tener problemas.
Some idiot’s cut my niece’s hair. There’s one other thing I need you to do.
Algún idiota a cortado el pelo de mi sobrina…. Hay otra cosa que necesito que hagas.
I know this hair cut is nothing to do with you but my sister is watching outside and
I want her to think that you did it.
Sé que este corte de pelo no tiene nada que ver con usted, pero mi hermana está mirando afuera y quiero que ella piense que usted lo hizo.
So you sort out this terrible mess for me and I will pay you double.

Así que arregla este lío terrible y yo te pagaré el doble.
Usted es muy, muy buena gente.
Fíjate especialmente en esta frase:
I want her to think that you did it.
Quiero que ella piense…. I want her to ….
Nota que no decimos I want that she thinks.… Esto es un fallo ¡gigantesco! Suena fatal y es un error muy, muy común.
Vamos a ver si podemos simplificar el asunto, ya que muchos alumnos me dicen que esto les parece complicado. ¡No es complicado! Observa:
I want to think. = Quiero pensar. Se trata de la misma persona que quiere y que piensa.
I want you to go. = Quiero que vayas tu. No es la mima persona la que quiere y la que va.
Sencillamente hemos insertado el pronombre de objeto directo entre want y to. NO “that”!!
¡Es facíl! No hay que cambiar nada.
